Three (Original?) Thoughts

The Golden Spiral

The Golden Spiral

Inner space is as infinite as outer space.

Where there is life there is hope.

Religion is a box; spirituality is a golden spiral.

G. K. Chesterton on Conservatives and Progressives

“The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected.”
-G. K. Chesterton

On Flowers

I can’t satisfactorily find or verify the source of this quote.  It may be a generic name for an unknown person, a specific person, a correct attribution, or an incorrect attribution.  Any clarification anyone could give me would be appreciated.  That said, here it is.

If you labor, you are a “laborer”
If you farm, you are a “farmer”
If you flow, you are a “Flower”
-Forest Sage

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.

Sadly, I prefer this particular current variant of this Winston Churchill quote over the original quote, which was in reference to a particular person:

Occasionally he stumbled over the truth but he always picked himself up and hurried on as if nothing had happened.

The bonus in the mangled version of the quote is the idea that we are all blundering into the truth occasionally, because sometimes we all need some motivation to go stumbling around.
