Our path is a lonely one,
And at times it is treacherous.
So much has been lost,
Ancient knowledge,

A Treacherous Path (Photo credit http://mikesthailandtravels.blogspot.com/)
Traditions of teaching.
Mentors, what are they?
We are the generation
That must mentor itself;
Starting from scratch,
Sniffing for clues,
As to the true nature
Of reality.
Because our forebears
Have have been overcome,
Or neglected their duties,
To pass on the wisdom
Of our people;
And those who came.
And so we sniff for clues,
Scratch at the dirt,
Peek inside.
Avoid the prying eyes
Of a consciousness that does not accept
The underlying truths,
The self-evident realities,
Hidden in every corner,
That we don’t believe in;
And don’t see.
So now we know
Why we must hold onto each other
With all our might.
We are all we have.
The chain will not be broken,
Because we will not let go.
It does not end;
And neither do we.
